The end of the year brings many things: holidays, resolutions, deadlines. For me, and many others, it’s a time to think about the coming year, and what I want to create in the future. Early in my career I moved through life simply going with the flow, and it was good enough . . . until discovering the excitement of planning for the future and seeing your intentions come true.
Setting intentions for what ‘s possible is a recipe with ingredients like optimism, reality, hope, excitement and commitment. It’s also a time to remember and be grateful for WHY this work is important to do, as I was reminded today when I read a quote from “The Wise Heart”
“Be mindful of intention. Intention is the seed that creates our future.
Setting a long term intention is like setting the compass of our heart. No matter how rough the storms, how difficult the terrain, even if we have to backtrack around obstacles, our direction is clear.
…concentrate not on the results but on the value, the rightness, the truth of the work itself.
By aligning our dedication with our highest intention, we chart the course of our whole being. Then no matter how hard the voyage and how big the setbacks, we know where we are headed.”
